Chef’s Path Food Containers

One of the best cereal storage containers this year is from Chef’s Path.  I am not handing out awards, but these make my pantry look good. These storage containers have met my brief requirements – easy-to-use capacity and overall value. I find a deal in these containers.

The container comes in a box of four. As a bonus, the product labels and markers go with them. You could make your labels, but these are a nice bonus.

Unboxing the containers felt like what I would expect. It was not until I held a container that I felt how different these were from others I’ve bought. I felt like I made a desirable choice.

Classic piano with black lids and smooth corners all the way around. These are meant to sit out in the open, on countertops like a pretty cookie jar. The covers and handles felt smooth, and neither the top nor bottom felt rough. You can tell the quality of something simply by holding it.

Airtight Lid

The lid is what I like the most about this food container. It has a nice bulky feel to it. The latch closes with ease and is secure when closed. So, opening the lid takes little effort. When unlocked, pull the handle, and the top comes off effortlessly. It has a spring-assist feel to it. It feels like it is helping me along the way and suddenly – it gently flicks open.

Someone with lousy arthritis or acute hand pain could easily find this easy to open. All areas are smooth, so they will not scratch the skin. The handle itself is large enough to grasp with little effort. Also, it takes just one move, and it’s unlocked. I like these even more now.

For the family

Having visibility of what’s inside is a necessity. I value what I can quickly see – I use my eyes and make a good guess.

Being efficient takes a level of muscle memory. If you need something quick to cook, you know where to look. What if I want to cook something other than a pound of pasta? Do I have enough sugar? I don’t like searching for things when I need them, especially when the kids need to be fed.

Scooping out an ingredient from this food storage container is straightforward. A large one-cup measuring cup fits well. So, it will hold measuring cups – small to large. I found no problem and found it easy. It is mess free by scooping and leveling.

The kids find it easy to pour their cereal. The containers are light and can hold about thirteen cups.  That means regular and large boxes of cereal fit perfectly. The family-sized cereal boxes will have a little left over. Just do not overfill, as you need space for the lid.

The container is polystyrene, a food-grade plastic. It gives a clear look and feels rigid. I have not had issues with scratches. Cleaning is easy. Hand washing with regular dish soap is recommended. The lid might hold water if it when in the dishwasher. Handwashing and quickly drying will keep those water spots away.

Perfect For Flours and Sugars

Yes, I get hungry quickly. And now, I cannot stop thinking about that crispy – salty – chewy crunch. Yes, I’m thinking – fried chicken.

But making fried chicken at home could turn into a mess. Not planning it out has turned my fingers into ooey-gooey battered corndogs before.

  • While talking chicken, I wanted to share a recipe with you—one of my favorite Food Network chefs. I’ve followed his work for years and wanted to share this recipe. Crispy, yum.

You may be familiar with the dry-hand and wet-hand approaches. I mean, dredge the chicken in wet batter with one hand, followed by dry coating with the other. I wouldn’t say I like using too many layers because I wouldn’t say I like wasting – so I don’t scoop more than two cups at the beginning. But, if I do run out, I pop the lid and sprinkle what more I need.

In the past, I have made dust clouds when using the flour bag. Flour magically makes its way to my clothes and usually the floor. I get a laugh from the kids. When the flour comes out, they enjoy it. The kids like these little messes, like putting floury handprints on everything in sight. I cannot help but laugh.

So, these containers have decreased our flour mishaps. Another thing I don’t worry about when flour comes out is opening the bag’s paper spout. That could make or break a clean kitchen—also, no need to worry about bugs making their way inside too.
